The time is here for the annual Tulsa Farm Show!  Whether you are looking to purchase new equipment, gain tips, purchase one of the fantastic auction items or just take a step out of the city, the Farm Show is the place to be.

Calling all Holiday Shoppers!

As crazy as it may sound, the holidays are right around the corner and shopping for many people has already begun.   Expo Square has multiple opportunities for you to begin your shopping and possibly get a few things for yourself!

An Affair of the Heart will begin Friday, Nov. 16 at 9am, located in the QuikTrip Center.  Antiques, gourmet foods, jewelry, clothing, holiday items and so much more. 

Looking for something for the kids?  The Just Between Friends Sale is having a special holiday event that will focus on all kinds of toys and holiday wear.  Sale begins Nov. 16 and run thru Nov. 18, located in the Fair Meadows Exhibit Hall next to Big Splash.

The Tulsa State Fair and Arabian Horse Show may have come and gone for 2012, but that doesn't mean that we aren't full of excitement and events here at Expo Square!

This weekend alone we have the Color Congress presented by the Pinto Horse Association, Bead Renaissance Show and the world famous Wanenmacher Arms Show.  The variety and quality of our shows make us proud and excited to welcome everyone to Expo Square.

According to the Wanenmacher show, if you spend the whole 18 hours they are open to the public and divide that by the 4,100 tables they have, you have 15.8 seconds to look at each table.  You won't want to miss this show!

Fair starts this week!

The week has finally come for the start of the 2012 Tulsa State Fair.  What have you planned to do during the 11-day event?  No worries, the Fair has it taken care of for you.  Visit the Tulsa State webite at www.tulsastatefair.com and check out the Plan Your Day feature.  You will be able to find show times, locations and determine the times that work for your schedule. Have your day planned before you even enter the gates!

Tickets on Sale Now!

Your ticket is waiting for you at the Tulsa State Fair!  Advanced tickets, Mega Ride, Disney on Ice and PRCA Rodeo can now be purchased in person or online. 

Mega Ride passes can be purchased on the south side of Fair Meadows.  Bring a Coke can and receive $5.00 off your pass.

Advanced gate and ride tickets are available until September 24.  Advanced gate tickets can also be purchased at all local Walgreens and QuikTrip locations.

Many times when people hear of the Tulsa State Fair they very easily think of the Oklahoma State Sugar Art Show, which has become known as the "Super Bowl of Cake."

The 2012 show will mark 19 years for this Fair tradition.  Not only do Tulsans come to see the cakes that come from all over the country, but people travel from all over to see the amazing creations that artists are able to make come to life.

Make sure you make your way to the QuikTrip Center, Lower Level, Sept. 29 & 30 during building hours to see the masterpieces that will feature "Headgear, Hats and Headbands."

The 2012 Tulsa State Fair is on its way and opening its gates in 23 days!  The excitement will include new and returning favorites!

The Comet II (pictured above) will return with its twists and curves and features flips for the roller coaster fans will scream over!

The Tulsa Flea Market

The Tulsa Flea Market has been a tulsa tradition for over 40 years.  People may know that the tradition includes items that possibly can not be found any where else, admission is always free and Goddard the dog is the Tulsa Flea Market mascot.  These facts may be a little more known, but Melissa Larry has provided us with a few little known facts about the long-standing tradition.

James E. Smith, a retired postal worker and entrepreneur, started the Tulsa Flea Market in 1972, after visiting some of the big outside flea markets, or swap meets in California.  He thought Tulsa needed a place to sell various goods and chose the Tulsa Fairgrounds as a good location for his business venture.  He didn't live long enough to see his dream become the success it has, and died in 1974.  After his wife, Ella took over the business and thir daughter Patsy Larry and son-in-law, Louis Larry were there to help her run the growing business.  Ella died in 1980, leaving Patsy in charge of the business, which grew further and fourished in the 1980's and early 90's.  The third generation of Smith/ Larry women, Melissa Larry, is running the flea market, along with Patsy.

This family tradition happens most Saturdays and is open free to the public.  For more info, check out www.exposquare.com.

Back-to-school means back-to-school clothes, and Just Between Friends will have you covered!  August 19 - 25 will mark the dates for the next sale, located at the Exchange Center.

Tulsa Public School parents get excited because this year Just Between Friends will also have school uniforms!  You won't have to miss out on the great savings for school clothes.

For a $10.00 admission, you can attend the special pre-sale on Sunday, August 19.  Admission all other days will be free to the public.

Thursday will begin 30% savings and Saturday will feature 50% savings on all remaining items.

 An Affair of the Heart will be returning for its 12th year in a row to the QuikTrip Center with over 400 vendors and over 22,000 people during the course of the weekend. 

With some inside info for our bloggers, we were able speak with reps from An Affair of the Heart about the upcoming show.  When asking about what guests can expect this year, we were excited to hear, " Guests can expect to see unique, one-of-a-kind items not found at big box  retailers or chains.  Our vendors are artisans, crafters and independent retailers who bring the finest items, handcrafted material and treasured finds directly to the shoppers.  Its the only opportunity to see these venors and retailers in one place."

This year, Affair of the Heart is excited to have the Tulsa Global Alliance passing out info about their 2012 Kid's World Festival in November.  As always, the event will feature the vendors that are represented from more that 20 states across the nation.

86 days until the 2012 Tulsa State Fair!

It is so hard to believe that the Tulsa State is only 86 days away!  The excitement is growing and it will definitely be "Herds of Fun" for the entire family.

Announcements for the Oklahoma Stage will be coming soon, but we can't wait for the PRCA Rodeo with Jake Owen, Friday, October 5 and the Randy Rogers Band, Saturday, October 6.  Disney on Ice will also be located in the Pavilion the first weekend with "Dare to Dream."

There is always something going around at the fairgrounds and this week is no different.  Expo Square is so excited to have the Tulsa Holiday Summer Circuit & Prelude of Champions, June 28 - July 1. 

The show is in its 32nd year and offers free admission to the public to attend.  Yes, the arenas are air-conditioned and this is a great way to get great entertainment, while still avoiding the heat.  Want to participate?  Stalls are still available for the event.
